Na Berta Craus, a social worker of the CVI, presented this morning a speech about the program “Adaptació Funcional a la Llar” during the 16th International Conference on Integrated Care” taking place in Barcelona from 23 to 25 May.
The program presented is being developed since 2011 to the present. It has been possible thanks to the collaboration agreement between the City Council of Barcelona and AVI, with the support of public and private entities.
This intervention has the aim of stating that after the actions realized by this project, 86% of users said they feel more self-confident and 95% said they felt safer. The program has allowed the CVI to make a study alongside with the Department of Econometrics at the University of Barcelona. The study concludes that:
“For every euro invested in products supporting the annual savings can range between 2.74 and 3.71 euros. This is achieved because third parties are no longer as needed and different types of falls are prevented. In any case, repayment of the investment would be concluded in less than five months”
“This study also confirmed the efficiency of preventive policies to address future aggravations in dependency situations”
